The cake remains fresh for 14 days from date of shipment when stored on the kitchen counter or in the refrigerator. Refrigeration does not add to the shelf life of the cake. All cakes freeze
beautifully for up to twelve months, either whole or sliced. The cake is
best defrosted by opening the heavy duty freezer bag in which it was frozen and storing the cake at room temperature for a few hours. It will taste as fresh as just baked! Also, our cake is quite good when eaten cold, or even frozen - try it!

The cake is baked here in our bakery, so there is no need for additional baking. It’s a ready to eat product! You may reheat the cake, if it is your personal preference.
You may warm the cake in a microwave oven (please use caution), a toaster oven, or even fry our cake in a pan as you would French toast.
Delicious!

We do not recommend our cake be consumed by anyone who suffers
from severe nut allergies.
We also do not recommend that our no-nut cakes be an appropriate
choice for those who suffer from severe nut allergies, as all of our cakes are baked in
a facility where walnuts are located on the premises.

We are asked this question quite often. A lot of stores buy our product in volume so they are able to pass some savings to their customers.
But stores do not (for the most part) deliver the product to your door, which is a real convenience. If they do deliver it to you, they tend to charge for it (as we do), either by the delivery or with a service charge (much like are charged for Peapod type services). In almost all cases they do not deliver it for you, or on your behalf, to a second party.
While you might be able to save a couple of dollars by purchasing our cake in a store and mailing it yourself, you won’t get any of the following:
- a cake that's baked to order
- shrink-wrap sealing to protect against nature and the elements
- extra cardboard reinforcement inside the box to protect against breakage
- personal customer service
- a refund if any problems occur

Our small cake measures approximately 8 inches across, weighs 1.75 pounds
and provides 8 - 12 servings. Our large cake is approximately 10 inches across,
weighs 3.1 pounds and provides 16 - 20 servings.

My Grandma’s Coffee Cakes do not contain liquor. The reference
to Bourbon vanilla is to the Bourbon region of Madagascar, where our vanilla
beans are produced.

We guarantee our cakes 100%. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with our product,
we will replace the product or refund your money (mail order cakes only). If you have purchased our cake at a local gourmet shop or supermarket, and are dissatisfied, please return our product to the place of purchase for a replacement or a refund.
